Microsoft has recently announced the first change to Microsoft Dynamics 365 pricing in five years, with changes  taking effect from the 1st of October 2024

In this blog, we cover the key points around these price changes, including what they will be, who they affect, and what the next steps are.

Key Information on Dynamics 365 Price Changes

Microsoft’s price increases for Dynamics 365 products vary across the applications, with adjustments ranging from 9% to 17%. This update is a significant shift for users who have benefited from stable pricing over the last five years.

Breakdown of the New Pricing:

  • Dynamics 365 Sales: Around 10% increase
  • Dynamics 365 Customer Service: Around 12% increase
  • Dynamics 365 Customer Insights (Marketing): Around 17%

While the exact new prices in GBP are yet to be disclosed, we expect the changes to be similar to the announced increases in US Dollars.

Why the Increase in Dynamics 365 Prices?

There are various reasons why Microsoft is adjusting the prices, including:

Platform Enhancement: Over the past five years, Microsoft has significantly upgraded Dynamics 365 by integrating advanced technologies, such as AI-driven features like Microsoft Copilot, expanding functionalities, and improving the overall user experience. These developments come with additional costs, which the price increase aims to cover.

Research and Development: The price increase supports Microsoft’s substantial investment in continuously developing new features, ensuring that the platform remains at the forefront of technology. This investment enables Dynamics 365 to offer its users the most cutting-edge solutions and stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Who Will Be Affected?

The price increases will affect both new and existing Dynamics 365 customers, however, these changes will not be the same for both.

  • Existing Customers: The new pricing update will only take effect at your next renewal date post October 1st, 2024. Your current pricing will remain the same until then.
  • New Customers: Any new clients that purchase products starting after the 1st of October 2024, will be subject to the increased rates.

What Should You Do Next?

If you are an existing user or considering adopting Dynamics 365, here are some steps to take:
